Reading & writing for Hebrew speakers
The course is intended for people who know how to speak Hebrew but never learned how to read or write, but do know how to read and write in other languages.
No book is needed for this course.
Twice per week, 19:00 to 21:00 on Monday and Thursday, 1,550 NIS
The average class size is about 10 students for the in-person courses (the max size of a group is 12 students).
What will I learn in this course?
By the end of the course you will know how to read and write in Hebrew and the logic behind the Hebrew Alphabet. You will know how to spell the important tricky words and the spelling of various conjugations. You will know the basic writing and reading logic and will have enough practice to read simple texts, signs and hand written texts (understanding will still be limited by your vocabulary).
I have learning difficulties, is this course for me?
Probably not but please contact us to make sure. Bear in mind that this course is not intended for people who didn’t learn reading and writing due to various learning difficulties, but rather for people who never put the time and energy needed into that.
About the teacher

Dan Inbar has been teaching Hebrew for the past 20 years – both as a foreign language and for Israeli drama students. For the past six months Dan has been curating the new Reading and Writing Program that is offered here, dedicated to those who know how to speak but never learned how to read and write. Dan also speaks English, Spanish and German, and even records audiobooks! Feel free to ask him anything about proper Nikkud – the Hebrew vowel signs!
