Ulpan Bayit is more than a place to learn Hebrew. It is a place to find your voice, understand the life happening around you, and feel that you belong.
It Started in a Living Room
Ulpan Bayit was founded in Tel Aviv in 2013 by Yaron Sivan.
“When I started Ulpan Bayit, it was a one-person project in my living room — that is where the name came from: bayit means home. I wanted to create the kind of ulpan I believed Tel Aviv needed: young, open, professional and connected to real life — a place where people could learn the Hebrew they needed for conversations, friendships, work and everyday independence, and meet one another along the way.”

There are no magical shortcuts to Hebrew, and we will never promise that you will sound like a native speaker in a few months. What we do promise is thoughtful, professional teaching that gives you the tools to keep growing.
Classes are small, so there is space to speak, ask questions, make mistakes and receive personal guidance. And our Hebrew is rooted in the life around us — the streets, workplaces, cafés, music and culture of Tel Aviv — so every lesson moves you toward using it confidently out there.
The goal is not simply to finish a course. It is to make Hebrew part of your life.
Built by Remarkable Teachers
Ulpan Bayit may have begun as a one-person project, but everything it became was built by a team of teachers who share a deep love for Hebrew, language and people. Together, they created original curricula, textbooks and cultural content that guide students from their very first Hebrew words toward genuine independence.
They are knowledgeable, creative and demanding in the best possible way. Ulpan Bayit is, above all, its people.
More Than a Decade of Hebrew
Running an independent cultural and educational home in Tel Aviv since 2013 has been an adventure. Together, we have lived through a pandemic, wars and profound changes in the city — and through it all, Ulpan Bayit has continued to teach, create, adapt and grow.
Most importantly, approximately 10,000 students have studied with us. Today, they are holding conversations, building relationships, working, creating and studying at university in Hebrew.
Every one of those journeys began with a first word.
