Terms & Conditions (yes, also for us).

The least fun page on the site — but the most useful when something unexpected happens. We’ve tried to keep it human. If anything’s unclear, just email us and we’ll answer like the people we are.

    01

    Prices

    — The 'how much will this cost me' part.

    Morning course
    ₪3,650
    72 academic hours
    Evening & online
    ₪3,500
    60 academic hours

A student can’t start a course without settling their payment, and a seat in a class can’t be saved without a full payment. Sounds strict, but it’s the only fair way for the people on the waiting list.

    02

    Class size

    — Small enough that you can't hide. By design.

    • In-person: minimum 6 · maximum 12.
    • Online: minimum 4 · maximum 8.
    03

    Prerequisites

    — If you're an Aleph, none. Skip this part.

For any level above Aleph, students are expected to know how to read and write in Hebrew — both print and cursive letters. Not sure if you qualify? Book a free level assessment and we’ll tell you exactly.

    04

If we don't fill the class

    — It happens. We have plans B, C, and D.

In the rare case a class doesn’t reach the minimum number of students by the registration deadline, we offer the registered students one of the following:

    1. 1
      Shorter, same price
Reduce the total hours by 25–50% while keeping the tuition the same. The pace is faster, but the smaller group makes that work.
    2. 2
Delay by up to two weeks
Sometimes a few extra days is all it takes to fill the seats.
    3. 3
      Full refund
If neither option is feasible for you, we refund in full and part as friends.
    05

    Learning materials

    — Bring yourself; we'll bring the rest.

All learning materials are included in the tuition. Books, handouts, digital flashcards — everything.

    06

    Homework

    — It's not optional. We know, sorry, hi.

It is mandatory to do homework, as homework is an important part of studying. Students who skip it don’t just slow themselves down — they slow the whole group’s progress down too. We love you for trying, and we’ll love you more for doing the homework.

    07

    Pictures of students

    — If you spot a great hair day in the wild, blame us.

From time to time the Ulpan staff might take photos of our students and use them on social media, on our website, and in sponsored content. If you’d rather not appear, just tell your teacher — we’ll happily keep you out of frame.

    Cancellation policy

    — Plans change. Here’s exactly what that looks like in numbers.

Postponing a course to a later date counts exactly like a cancellation. On rare occasions, exceptional cases apply. This policy follows the guidelines of Israeli consumer law.

At a glance · in working days (Sun–Thu)
    before course starts
    More than 14 days
    Best window
    Full refund
    minus ₪100 admin fee
    14 days to 7 days
    Conditional
Refund only if your spot is taken from the waitlist
if filled: full refund minus ₪500
    7 days to 3 days
    Half
50% refund — if your spot is filled
    tight window
    3 days or less
    Too late
    No refund
    —
    !
Pay attention: any cancellation made 14 working days or less before the course starts is not automatically refunded unless your spot is filled by another student from our waiting list.
    Two worked examples
    The early regret
A student pays 4 weeks before the course starts. They change their mind within a week — that’s still more than 14 working days before the course actually begins. The cancellation is accepted without a question and they get a full refund minus ₪100.
    Outcome
    Full refund − ₪100
    The late regret
Same student, but they change their mind after seven days — meaning there are now less than 14 working days until the course starts. The cancellation can only be partially refunded if and when their spot is taken by another student on the waitlist. The refund follows the table above.
    Outcome
    Refund only if waitlisted fills
    Exceptional cases

An example of an exceptional case: a student is found to be unable to learn a second language, or the course level genuinely doesn’t fit and the Ulpan cannot find a suitable alternative. We handle these one by one, with kindness.

    09

    Missing the first days

    — The first week is the foundation. Catch up matters.

Students who miss the first days of the Aleph course will have to cover the material through private lessons at a cost of ₪200 per hour. The first lessons set up everything that comes after, so we’d rather you catch up properly than spend the rest of the course chasing.

    10

    Level assessments

    — Honesty up front saves us all a future heartbreak.

All new students are required to do a level assessment with one of our teachers. If the teacher recommends private lessons before the course in order to reach a required level, and you commit to doing them but don’t actually reach the level by the start of the course — no refund will be offered. (We say this kindly. It happens, and it’s awkward for everyone.)

    11

    Missing classes

    — Show up. Future-you will thank you.

It is highly recommended not to miss lessons. Students who miss more than 3 classes might be required to take private lessons to get back to class level. If you know in advance you’ll miss the first lessons, please let us know — we can plan around it.

    12

    Refunds

    — See section 8 for the full picture. This is the short version.

A full refund applies only if you cancel 14 working days or more before the class’s scheduled starting date. Even then, a ₪100 administration fee will be deducted. We hate paperwork as much as you do — that fee is what it costs to undo it.

    13

    Exceptions

    — Life is bigger than terms and conditions.

In the sad event of a bereavement, we want to help you, not add to your troubles. Immediate family members will be entitled to a full refund (minus the refund administration fee) on presentation of a copy of the death certificate. We’re sorry.

    14

    Behavior

    — The boring rule that's never been broken. Let's keep it that way.

A student found stealing from the Ulpan, the teachers, or other students; or harming or harassing — physically or verbally — the Ulpan’s assets, teachers, or students, will be expelled immediately without any refund and may be subject to legal action.

    15

    Responsibility & liability

    — The lawyer-flavored bit. We promise it's brief.

Students are responsible for their own personal belongings. Ulpan Bayit is not responsible for stolen, lost, or damaged items belonging to students. Ulpan Bayit is not liable to you for any injury, death, costs related to medical treatment, or costs related to repatriation, or for any other losses, damages (whether direct or indirect), compensation, costs, or expenses.

    Something unclear? Just ask.

Real humans answer. Usually within a working day. If you’ve spotted a typo, we’d love to know — terms and conditions are no excuse for sloppy proofreading.
